Via “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” on April 22, Paul Bettany answered, “This is a great question”. He was trying to be entirely honest and confirmed whether he was in the movie or not. But it seems he didn’t want to reveal anything.
“And, again, I said I was going to be entirely honest with you… Am I in ‘Doctor Strange 2’? Yes, no, yes, no, yes, no. I don’t know. Am I? What do you think? I can neither confirm nor deny the rumors that I am in said and aforementioned ‘Doctor Strange 2′”.

Vision’s role in Wanda’s arc has ended, at least for now in the “WandaVision”. The finale of this miniseries depends on Wanda who can let go of the version of Vision even though it still opens the door for them to reunite at another time.
There is a post-credit about the scene of “WandaVision” in which there is a new challenge for Wanda that sparks her storyline in “Doctor Strange 2”. When she looked at the dark hold, a powerful book that is famous for corrupting the user because of its influence, she thinks she was hearing the voice of her and Vision’s children that are also vanished with the Westview as she let go of the magic. Then, their voice is heard again in the “Doctor Strange 2” hinting about Wanda’s focus.

In “Doctor Strange 2” there are multiple new characters introduced in the movie. Adding vision in can be possible whether for a flashback, variant, or conjuring, but it did not happen. In Wanda’s effort to bring back her family, there was an alternate version of Wanda with her sons introduced but without Vision.

Fans are raising questions regarding the absence of Vision. His not appearing in the new movie could be the fact that he is still busy with another commitment or that the movie itself has already brought a pack of cameos so adding one more is not necessary.
“Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” is probably not the first sequel from Marvel, but it is the first movie that is related to its TV products. It is different from the previous movies that require onlookers to watch all of the MCU releases to understand the concept of the story. In this case, it is better to watch “WandaVision” help you see in the bigger picture.
