Are you a fan of “Toy Story”? Then there is good news. Buzz Lightyear has got a makeover in the new movie “Lightyear”. The animated film is a part of a prequel to the “Toy Story” franchise from Disney Pixar that will be released this June 2022.
The story centers on Buzz Lightyear, the astronaut which is inspired by a space action figure. Before, Tim Allen contributed as the voice actor to Buzz, but in this new film, there is a slightly different change in which Allen is out and Chris Evan is joining in to be the part of the prequel as Buzz Lightyear.
According to Pop Sugar, Chris Evan will take over the iconic Buzz Lightyear which will come out next June and of course, Captain America is happy about it.
In his statement for Entertainment Week, Evan expressed his gratitude for his role in “Lightyear” which is like “a dream come true”. Further, he explained how much love he has for animated films. His new project with the Pixar family and other brilliant artists is unbelievable.
On Twitter, Evan expressed his love for animated films by writing,
“Animated movies were an enormous part of my childhood. They were my escape. My adventures. My dreams. They were my first window into the magic of storytelling and performing.”
The departure of Allen might be a huge change for the Toy Story family, but as Chris Evans has joined the club, it all makes sense. Aside from his admiration for animation, he is also well-known as a Marvel superhero, Captain America so he fits the character very well. Besides, that means Evans is fully prepared with playing “Lightyear”.
The movie has also revealed the first trailer with the cheeky parallel between the movie and Marvel’s as Buzz sees his spacesuit. Eagle-eyed fans noticed there are similar shots from Captain America.
