We just started February and that means that the Life of Rubin blog is about to turn 1 Year Old. I’ve really enjoyed this blog since I started it. For many many reasons this blog means an awful lot to me, regardless if people read it or not. All though I sure am happy people have been checking back every day and seeing what some Joe Schmo writes.
Let me just say this from the start, I am not closing this blog, nor am I calling it quits. Being away this last week has made it very hard for me to blog. It’s always hard to blog when I go out of town on these business trips, but this one was a little longer. The funny part for me was that it was a great/relaxing break, blogwise I mean.
I really enjoy this blog, but it does take up an awful lot of time. I try to pre-write many posts, and work on it at night, but its a real effort. The way I see it, this blog has two sides to it. One: The links and stories I find interesting which I post. Two: The things that are going on in the world, both Jewish Musically and Current Events wise that I feel strong enough about that I’m inspired to write. Lately I haven’t been doing either one too well. Partly because of my real job and obvious time restrains that work causes and partly because I may be a little burned out. I thought about calling it quits, but then realized I’d be back to blogging in no time, probably within the month. I don’t want to be on those bloggers who ‘retire’ and then come back or start a new blog.
So what to do? What. to. do?. I could use a break, work is very hectic right now, and I have a few business trips coming up. So as of today, the Life of Rubin blog is on hiatus. I will be back to normal blogging in 3-4 weeks. In fact I think I will take this hiatus twice a year, maybe every six months. I think it’s a good idea for everyone actually. When I come back, I hope to be fresh, recharged, and full of stuff to blog about. Consider this a close to Season One.. Except there is no annoying cliffhanger. Season Two will begin in March.
I won’t be disappearing either, I’ll still be reading, and commenting on other blogs. I also still plan on popping up on my baby, ya know, my pride and joy. The Jewish Connection. So for now, take care, and I can’t wait to see you on the flip side of things!
Your friend,
Chaim Rubin
