Howdy folks, I’ve been doing really good - thanks to the one above. Life at work has finally started to readjust itself from the massive changes that just took place and I am feeling very refreshed blog wise. I am extremely excited to start blogging again - next week.

Season 2 will premiere, Sunday March 5th, 2006. I will start my return to blogging by hosting the wonderful Haveil Havalim for the first time. This is HH’s 60th Edition, and I’m honored and thankful that David made the necessary adjustments to allow me to host it.
Please send me anything that you think should be included in HH: 60, starting with today (Sunday) and ending … well, I think y’all know how this works.

Please e-mail me at lifeofrubin at gmail dot com. You can use the link on my blogger profile.

I will also be introducing a new blog
that I have started next Sunday as part of my season premiere. I won’t link to that here. If your interested to see what that’s all about go to my blogger profile page and see which new blog was added.
That’s it for now, I return in full swing next Sunday and until then ….. happy surfing!

PS: This week’s HH can be found over here.

We just started February and that means that the Life of Rubin blog is about to turn 1 Year Old. I’ve really enjoyed this blog since I started it. For many many reasons this blog means an awful lot to me, regardless if people read it or not. All though I sure am happy people have been checking back every day and seeing what some Joe Schmo writes.

Let me just say this from the start, I am not closing this blog, nor am I calling it quits. Being away this last week has made it very hard for me to blog. It’s always hard to blog when I go out of town on these business trips, but this one was a little longer. The funny part for me was that it was a great/relaxing break, blogwise I mean.

I really enjoy this blog, but it does take up an awful lot of time. I try to pre-write many posts, and work on it at night, but its a real effort. The way I see it, this blog has two sides to it. One: The links and stories I find interesting which I post. Two: The things that are going on in the world, both Jewish Musically and Current Events wise that I feel strong enough about that I’m inspired to write. Lately I haven’t been doing either one too well. Partly because of my real job and obvious time restrains that work causes and partly because I may be a little burned out. I thought about calling it quits, but then realized I’d be back to blogging in no time, probably within the month. I don’t want to be on those bloggers who ‘retire’ and then come back or start a new blog.

So what to do? What. to. do?. I could use a break, work is very hectic right now, and I have a few business trips coming up. So as of today, the Life of Rubin blog is on hiatus. I will be back to normal blogging in 3-4 weeks. In fact I think I will take this hiatus twice a year, maybe every six months. I think it’s a good idea for everyone actually. When I come back, I hope to be fresh, recharged, and full of stuff to blog about. Consider this a close to Season One.. Except there is no annoying cliffhanger. Season Two will begin in March.

I won’t be disappearing either, I’ll still be reading, and commenting on other blogs. I also still plan on popping up on my baby, ya know, my pride and joy. The Jewish Connection. So for now, take care, and I can’t wait to see you on the flip side of things!

Your friend,
Chaim Rubin

Traveling. I really don’t enjoy traveling. I know some people love it, and your welcome to it. I just don’t enjoy it. I like my own bed, I like my own room, I like my own stuff, I like being home. I always want to hock about my trips, which happen at least once a month - but I didn’t want to turn my blog into business trip blog. Instead here is a small list of things I hate about these trips …

… airports

… airport security lines
… airport security guards
… airport kosher food
… airport terminal chairs
… airplane stink (from those air thingies)
… airplane pilots who feel like they are stand up comics

… waiting to find my luggage
… hotel clerks that think they work at the Waldorf
… Hotel lobbies that look like rain forests
… people who meet at the hotel bar for drinks
… hotel showers
… rental car attendants swearing the car “just came off the truck”
… laptops that only work for 45 minutes per battery
… people who push to get off of the plane first
